All beings will experience the suffering of aging and death. However, if you are fortunate to have vast learning, deep wisdom, pure percepts/discipline and other noble qualities, you do not feel any sorrow or distress from the loss of youth or the decline of intelligence. Instead, due to unfailing cause and effect, even when the prime of life is over and old age is here, you feel greater joy as you think of the happiness that awaits you in future lives. Your joy can even be compared to the joy of a bodhisattva on the first Bhumi (who has directly perceived emptiness).
